Commercial Lease Specialist/Paralegal


• Lease drafting and negotiations for company’s commercial portfolio, which includes office, industrial and retail properties
• Review and revise license agreements, access agreements, broker listing and property management agreements, lease guarantees, commencement and termination letters, estoppels, SNDA’s, AIA and service contracts, demand letters and other tenant correspondence related to the leases
• Assist Asset and Property Managers with all aspects of processing new and renewal lease documents through execution
• Review and interpret lease terms in consultation with attorneys
• Assist AM’s and PM’s with lease interpretation and enforcement issues
• Prepare lease abstracts and tracking of critical dates
• Assist all in-house attorneys with various aspects of commercial real estate transactions (such as with purchase contract review, due diligence, financing, closing and post closing matters).


• Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in commercial property lease drafting and negotiations
• Ability to understand and interpret commercial lease contracts/provisions
• Understanding of the various types of commercial leases (net, gross, base year, etc.)
• Paralegal certificate a plus, but not required
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong attention to detail is a must
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with a wide range of differing personalities, and resolve conflicts in difficult situations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Ability to work independently, prioritize work and juggle multiple responsibilities
• Results oriented and self-motivated
• Demonstrated problem solving skills, ability to recognize and define problems, collect data and proposes and implements solutions
